Privacy Policy
The agreement between Analogue Ventures and a community running an app.
Last updated June 2026
This policy explains how Analogue Ventures (Pty) Ltd ("Analogue Ventures", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal information through this website and the apps we build. It is aligned to South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
1. Who we are
Analogue Ventures (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for personal information processed through this site and our products ("MyPeople" and "Analogue"). For the apps we build and operate on behalf of a community or organisation, that community is the responsible party and we act as an operator processing data on their instruction. You can reach our Information Officer at bens@analogueventures.co.za.
2. Information we collect
Account and contact details (such as your name and email), the brand and onboarding details you submit, payment and billing information needed to process your subscription, and the contents of any enquiry you send us. For the apps we build, we process member data on behalf of the community that owns the app.
3. How we use it
To create and operate your app, communicate with you about your request, provide support, take and reconcile payment, meet our legal and accounting obligations, and improve our service. We do not use your personal information for unrelated marketing without your consent.
4. Legal basis (POPIA)
We process personal information on the bases permitted by POPIA, including performance of our agreement with you, compliance with a legal obligation, your consent (which you may withdraw), and our legitimate interests in running and securing the service.
5. Sharing and sub-processors
We share data only with the service providers needed to run the platform — including our hosting and database provider (Supabase), application hosting, our email provider (Resend), and our PCI-compliant payment provider for processing card transactions. These providers process data under their own terms and appropriate safeguards. We never sell your personal information.
6. Storage & security
Personal information is stored with our infrastructure providers and protected with reasonable technical and organisational measures, including access controls and encryption in transit. Some providers process or store data outside South Africa; where that happens we rely on the cross-border transfer conditions permitted under POPIA.
7. Your rights
Under POPIA you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, object to certain processing, and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at bens@analogueventures.co.za.
8. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Enquiry and account records are kept for the duration of our relationship with you and a reasonable period afterwards; billing records are kept for the period required by South African tax and accounting law. Member data processed for a community is retained per that community's instruction and deleted on request.
9. Cookies
We use only the cookies necessary to sign you in and keep the service running. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.
10. Contact / Information Officer
For any privacy request or question, contact our Information Officer at bens@analogueventures.co.za.
